Board Elections

2026 Board of Directors Election

Oak Hill Montessori Community School’s Board of Directors plays the critical role of guiding the long-term viability of the school through the creation and implementation of a strategic direction, all while overseeing the school’s adherence to its mission, vision, and values.

The third public election to the Board of Directors will take place on Thursday, May 28th, 2026.

The following candidates have expressed interest in being elected to the Board of Directors:

Jessica Barman

Hi, my name is Jessica Barman and I am an OHMCS parent seeking election to the board. I bring diverse background knowledge that I believe will serve the board and the wider community well. I served as a Special Education teacher at OHMCS. I have been in education for over 15 years, primarily in public and charter schools, including seven years in public Montessori schools. I continue to serve as a public educator in Mounds View Public Schools. I am committed to equity work and have received continuing education in the field. I hope to be a supportive voice for the incredible educators at OHMCS who guide our children with the values and wisdom of Maria Montessori every day, ensuring that OHMCS remains the special and vibrant community that it has been for over 60 years.

 Molly Petracca

My name is Molly Petracca. I am the guide in Casa 1. I have been at OHMCS for 5 years. I love being a part of a Montessori Charter School. Before OHMCS I was a guide at schools in Minneapolis and Canada. I was drawn to OHMCS when I heard they were becoming a Charter School. I would love for OHMCS to be very successful with the balance of strong Montessori classrooms within the expectations of State Standards. If our school is successful there might be other private Montessori schools that want to follow suit and become charter, thereby giving more children access to a Montessori education. And that is the goal. I have a deep love of early literacy in the casa classroom. In the past I worked with the Minnesota Literacy Council and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Minneapolis, helping children with their reading skills. I have been a part of the board for over 2 years and would love to continue to be a teacher representative for the board.
